Who Am I?

My name is Thomas Farano, and I am a Long Island resident currently facing end-stage kidney failure and undergoing dialysis three times a week while urgently awaiting a kidney transplant. I am not asking for financial assistance or special treatment—only help raising awareness. Even one broadcast segment or online post could reach someone willing and able to save my life.

My journey has been extremely difficult, including months of medical complications and ongoing dialysis treatment. Through it all, I am staying strong for my wife, Karen, and my family. My son, Nicholas, is a cancer survivor, and my family has been my foundation throughout this process. I am currently being evaluated and treated through NYU Langone Health, and I can provide medical confirmation and transplant center contact information if needed.

Living kidney donation is possible for healthy individuals, and one donor can save a life while continuing to live a normal, healthy life themselves. If possible, I would be grateful for the opportunity to speak with a reporter or producer. I believe this story could help raise awareness of organ donation and potentially connect me with a life-saving donor.
