Who Am I?

I am 49 years old. My kidneys first failed me when I was 14 and I had my first transplant at 15 and the second at 25. Unfortunately, that transplant is now failing and I need a new kidney. I am a husband, son, brother, and uncle (to several nieces). I am a software engineer and active in my church and community.

My Interests:

Because of the kidney problems, I have not been able to play sports like I would have liked, so I have more sedentary pursuits like video games and superhero movies. Also, I am in a life group and volunteer at church.

My Diagnosis:

I have end stage renal disease (ESRD).

How A Kidney Transplant Will Affect My Life:

I started dialysis a few weeks ago and that really takes up time and energy. Having a new kidney would allow me to live normally again. I have taken good care of my kidneys in the past with proper medicine and would do the same again.
