Who Am I?
My name is Melanie Sze. I'm a paraprofessional at the New York City Department of Education. I’m 29 years old, and my world revolves around my family, my friends, and my dog, Modelo.
My Interests:
I love baking, music, and volunteering. I love my dog, Modelo, very much. He's a fluffy furball that's been with me through this difficult time.
My Diagnosis:
I was born with only one kidney. I had no knowledge of this, so I was living life normally. By the time I found out, I was 23 years old and diagnosed with Stage 4 chronic kidney disease. A few years passed and now I have Stage 5 kidney failure.
How A Kidney Transplant Will Affect My Life:
A kidney transplant would mean more than just better health — it would mean more days with the people I love, more laughter, more time to do what I love, and more moments I’ll never take for granted. A kidney transplant will give me a second chance.
My Blood Type: O
