Who Am I?

Hi, my name is Marie, I’m 60 years old and I would like to share my story with you on how I have been dealing with CKD for 15+ years. I worked for the local government in Land Development and Zoning for 35 years.  I retired in 2020 to deal with my illness and enjoy my life. The happiest day was October 16, 2025 when I got the call I have been “APPROVED”  to be on the Kidney Transplant List. There were days I could barely get out of bed to go to work and enjoy any type of social life.  This has been a roller coaster of a ride.  A normal day for most is at times a struggle for me. My CKD has slowly declined over the last few years, and I have made a promise to myself to eat better, exercise and do whatever it takes to not have to be on dialysis.  I want to live and I very much want to get my kidney transplant as soon as possible.

My Interests:

I enjoy traveling, gambling, outdoors, going to stage performances, concerts, cookouts, entertaining friends and just being around people in general. My favorite thing is going to new Casinos and feeling the experience of high energy of laughter and bells ringing.  I also go to Bingo nothing like yelling BINGO!  It’s such a thrill and a rush.  I would like to add: Life is a gamble be a true winner, donate a kidney.

ESRD, Stage 4
