Who Am I?

My name is Lula Moran. I am a loving mother of six children, three sons and three daughters—who mean the world to me. My family is spread across Connecticut, South Carolina, Nevada, and Indiana, but we stay closely connected and support one another through everything. I am a caring, positive person who enjoys the simple things in life and values time spent with loved ones. I have a background in psychology and earned two degrees in the field; bachelor's and master's degree. I have always had a passion for understanding and helping others, which has shaped who I am today. Even through difficult times, I try to stay strong, hopeful, and grateful for each day.

My Interests:

I enjoy hobbies that help me relax and keep my mind active, like puzzles, word searches, knitting, and crochet. I also enjoy riding my bike and staying active when I can. Spending time with family and friends is very important to me—I enjoy simple moments like walking, playing pool, and just being together. I’m also involved with the Senior Center of Meriden, which helps me stay connected with my community. One of my favorite places is New Zealand, where my partner lives, and I hope to be able to travel there again.

My Diagnosis:

I have kidney disease and am currently receiving dialysis treatment. This condition has had a major impact on my daily life and overall health. Dialysis is necessary to keep me alive, but it is physically draining and limits my independence. A kidney transplant is my best opportunity to improve my health and regain a better quality of life.

How A Kidney Transplant Will Affect My Life:

A kidney transplant would truly change my life. It would give me the freedom to live without being tied to dialysis and allow me to feel healthier and more energized. I would be able to spend more quality time with my children, travel to see my partner in New Zealand, and enjoy everyday activities again. A transplant would give me a second chance at life—one where I can be more present, active, and independent. It would mean hope, freedom, and the opportunity to fully enjoy the time I have with the people I love.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I am currently searching for a living kidney donor and would be incredibly grateful for any help or support. Even if you are not able to donate, sharing my story with others could help me find a match. I truly appreciate your kindness, support, and prayers during this journey.
