Who Am I?

Hello, my name is Lorraine! I am a loving wife, mother of three, and grandmother of five. I work in property management, where I help low-income individuals obtain housing.

My Interests:

I love to travel and spend time with my family and friends. I used to enjoy bicycling, dancing, and taking long walks whenever I could.

My Diagnosis:

In 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a form of chronic kidney disease. I am now at Stage 4 and searching for a living kidney donor.

Several members of my family have stepped forward and gone through testing to see if they could donate, but unfortunately, they were unable to donate because of preexisting medical conditions. I am incredibly grateful that they were willing to try to help me.

As my kidney disease has progressed, it has become harder to do many of the things I once enjoyed. The side effects of CKD have made it difficult for me to get the rest I need and fully enjoy life. I miss being able to take long walks, travel, and simply spend quality time with the people I love.

How A Kidney Transplant Will Affect My Life:

Both of my parents passed away at the age of 59. One of my greatest hopes is to make it past 59 and grow old with my husband. I want to be there to watch my children and grandchildren grow, celebrate their milestones, and continue making memories together.

I am asking for help finding a living kidney donor because I want more time, not just more time, but more quality time with the people I love.

A kidney transplant would mean so much more to me than simply improving my health. It would give me the opportunity to regain some of the quality of life I have lost and get back to doing the things that bring me happiness. I want to walk, travel, make memories with my family, and enjoy time with my husband.
