Who Am I?

I am a husband and father of two amazing teenage daughters who I adore. I'm also a physician who has been caring for patients for 40 years, specifically focused on advancing the care of patients with leukemia. I was inspired to take care of patients with leukemia after the death of my uncle from leukemia.

My Interests:

I enjoy traveling and seeing all the amazing places in the world and learning about various beautiful cultures. I also enjoy watching all types of sports, appreciating the highs and lows of the games.

My Diagnosis:

My illness came without warning or symptoms. Years ago, routine blood work showed that my creatinine was slowly increasing. I aggressively treated my hypertension. But an unfortunate combination of medullary sponge kidney and high blood pressure gradually led to kidney failure. About two and a half years ago, we first heard the words “kidney transplant.” Even then, I hoped it wouldn't lead to end stage renal disease, but I started dialysis in February 2026, and now I'm desperately seeking a kidney transplant.

How A Kidney Transplant Will Affect My Life:

Personally, knowing I may be able to be around to see further development of my twin daughters and support them in their life journey is most important. For my patients, it would be a dream to continue to be able to take care of them and continue research in the field of leukemia and provide hope for patients.
